A late afternoon stroll around the point at Ynyslas produced a few
sightings of interest. There was a solitary great northern diver in the channel
near the estuary mouth; a flock of over 300 golden plover flew up the beach from
the south; the usual scoter spp were offshore; a pair of chough flew over the
point heading south; and on the Aberdyfi side of the river were a flock of
around six swans which could well have been whoopers. Too distant and not quite
enough light for a positive id.
