Aberystwyth prom

A strong SSW wind had brought ca50 Black-headed Gulls close inshore at South Bay this morning, but there was nothing else with them.
Helen turned up and we walked up to College Rocks, where we watched a Kingfisher before the incoming tide covered the rocks. A Grey Heron, also flushed off, tried to head south but on passing Castle Point gave up battling against the wind and came back along the prom, heading north over our heads.
Six Purple Sandpipers roosting on the wall and a Shag was on the sea.
