A morning out with Paul Bennett, starting at Aberystwyth with six Purple Sandpipers. Just a Great Crested Grebe at high tide at Ynyslas, so we decided to come back later when the tide had dropped.
The intervening period we spent at the layby at Glandyfi; highlights a Green Sandpiper and two male Red-breasted Mergansers.
Back at Ynyslas, nothing out of the ordinary, just 56 Curlews, 20 plus Redshank and over 100 Golden Plover overhead.
Shortly before the road ends at the beach at Ynyslas, there is a flooded dune slack on the left where Chris and I have both seen a Redshank in the past few days. Notable as neither of us has ever seen a wader there before. Well this morning there were six Redshank on there.
