A visit to the Teifi from Quay Street car park in the middle of Cardigan was well worthwhile this morning. It is a good site for wintering Common Sandpipers and sure enough, the first bird spotted was the Common Sandpiper. Looking downstream opposite the blue boat that used to be an Indian Restaurant there was a lone gull. On closer inspection it was a Glaucous Gull
Brighter light and a more stream-lined posture made it look different to that seen yesterday on the Teifi Marsh but given the scarcity of Glaucous Gulls in the UK at the moment it is likely to be the same bird.
