Spent an enjoyable 2 hours in Ynys Feurig hide this morning. A good start with a chiffchaff on the edge of Coed Penrhyn-mawr. The highlight from the hide was a female merlin hunting on the saltmarsh. There were 330 teal, 14 shoveler, and 2 wigeon on the pool. 3 kites between Ynys-hir and Lodge Farm but no hen harriers - I've only seen one so far this winter.
