One of the little gulls still present on south beach today.
The bird was moving between the southern end of south beach and the harbour
entrance, accompanying black-headeds. No sign of a second bird though. Also,
checked for purple sandpipers shortly after highest point of tide and no sign of
these, either on the wall or rocks adjacent to the pier. Twenty or so
turnstones there. Nothing else apart from a grey heron out to sea, fighting its
way in to the wind.
