I did do the nest boxes at Coed y Bont and we had a decent year
for pied flycatchers, 9 boxes with approx 50 young fledged.
I
still go in at Nant yr Arian a few days a week to check the site and feed the
kites:
On
Llywernog there is a great crested grebe on eggs and due to hatch very soon.
Also a coot with 4 young, I could hear a little grebe but couldn't see them,
sure they were nesting too. You can view these really well from the Miners Trail
(walking for locals is allowed at Nant yr Arian), where the path nears a fence
(next to a gate for a footpath across a field) and you can look down on to these
nests without disturbing the birds. A bench is right there too!
