Chris Bird has just related the following to me. Last night he was out looking for Nightjars: no luck as the weather was quite windy.
However, what he did find, to his delight, was a family of Long-eared Owls. There were definitely three , almost certainly four, young ones calling. He then saw two of the young birds.
After discussing it, Chris and I agreed that the location should remain confidential; not least because the site is on private land.
