There were 3 whooper swans on Llyn Mynydd Gorddu this morning, as well as a couple of teal and about 28 wigeon. This was fewer wigeon than on my last visit, on January 9th, when a flock of 35 were feeding on the field next to the almost completely frozen lake.
In the sunshine this morning a couple of pairs of red kite were quite
frisky, whistling and chasing, and I also heard mistle thrush and great tit in
song. So things are moving in the right direction!
