I only had time for a flying visit to Ynyslas ths morning. On the northern end of the golf course there were 14 Bar-tailed Godwits.. From the tern posts at Ynyslas I could see at least 190 Whimbrel on the east bank of the Leri on the rising tide: there may have been a few barwits hidden among them.
On Ynys Tachwedd fields were another 86 Whinbrel and six Wheatears. A Sedge Warbler sang near the railway crossing. Then a quick stop at Borth, where three Red-throated Divers were on the sea and a Little Egret and surprise, surprise, eight Whimbrel flew north.
