Up the Dyfi

Like Edward I briefly visited Ynyslas this morning and noted the brents before the wind drove me away to more sheltered climes.  At Glandyfi there were two Great White Egrets on the saltings and a distant Osprey upriver.

Then to Ynys-hir, where it was not a day for searching the woods for migrants, due to the cold wind.  Highlights were at least 80 Sand Martins and a few Swallows feeding over the pools below the car park, and a little passage of ca12 Lesser Black-backed Gulls up the estuary

I had started at Castle Point, where on arrival Helen told me that I had just missed three close Bottle-nosed Dolphins.
