Swifts and nightjars

Doing my BBS square at Tre'r ddol yesterday morning I was pleased to find eight swifts screaming around the village centre, plus another four elsewhere. Swallow numbers seem to be well down though. Am I the only one to have noticed this over the last few years?

On Monday night I braved the midges and went to see/hear the nightjars from the boardwalk on Cors Fochno. At one point three were in view together, and there must have been several more in the same general area. Walking back to the carpark I could hear another one churring far away to the south-east. Things may be be looking up for nightjars!
