A look at the sea from near the golf clubhouse this morning brought my first Sandwich Tern since the spring, an adult Med Gull, a male Common Scoter on the sea and a Ringed Plover on the beach. Apart from a light passage of Manx Shearwaters and a few Gannets, there was a little movement of Bottle-nosed Dolphins, as at least eight separate individuals went south in 30 minutes.
A Whimbrel at Ynyslas made the run up there worthwhile then there was a Black-tailed Godwit on the Leri. Hundreds of hirundines all over the area were again mostly young Swallows.
