During recent weeks there have been large numbers (2000+) of Kittiwakes at Cei Bach, including several colour-ringed birds, which were ringed as chicks in the nest.  Of the 33 colour-ringed birds I’ve read 1 was ringed in Cornwall, another on Skomer, 6 on Puffin Island (Anglesey) and the remainder in colonies in Brittany at Point du Van and Point du Raz.  Up until last year I only ever came across the occasional Kittiwake in roosting gull flocks so these big summer gatherings appear to represent a real change in behaviour.
