Leri & Ynyslas

Poor visibility at dawn at the railway bridge over the Leri this morning. 4 Ruff, 1 Greenshank, 1 Curlew and a hunting Otter were all I could make out. On to Ynyslas, on the way 2 quarreling Sparrowhawks nearly flew into the car then flew into Ynyslas Gardens.

Only birds at the the Tern posts were 32 Sandwich Terns. On to the point where I found Russell who put me on to a Curlew Sandpiper still with much summer colour. He also found a Common Tern in with 120 Sandwich Terns and a Turnstone. Also there 100+ of Ringed Plover and Dunlin, a Greenshank and a Snipe dropped in just as I was leaving.

Went back to the Tern posts where there was another Curlew Sandpiper (probably the same one, same plumage), a Mediterranean Gull, 13 Common Gulls and a calling Skylark dropped in.
