Not had a good autumn for seeing large numbers of birds passing through at the coast. They seem to have been on the move the day before or else as soon as I get home and have a coffee. I refer to this disappointing state of affairs as invis-mig. Fortunately this morning there was plenty on the ground in the fields both north and south of the village.
Linnet 180, Skylark 110, Reed Bunting 2, Goldcrest 1, Stock Dove 13, BH Gull 800, Starling 1500, Med Gull 2, Little Egret 1, Lapwing 70, Curlew 50, Oystercatcher 20.
As I watched the Linnets, a Razorbill flew low past me across the fields, skipping the hedges and fences.
