Just after five o'clock this evening I followed a Barn Owl for about a mile in my car as it hunted along the roadside hedges and verges from just outside Cross Inn, past Ty Gwyn Garage and as far as the junction to Llanon. It didn't seem the least bit bothered by my headlights and the car engine. It hovered low over the ground a few times and stopped twice to perch. I was really close on a couple of occasions as I watched it hover and perch through an open driver-side window.
