A very damp but enjoyable walk through the woodland from the Visitor Centre and back along the river produced 25 species.
Highlights were male and female goldeneye on the section behind the dam, and two goosander further upstream. A dipper was singing by the road bridge.The full list included:
Nuthatch, Great spotted woodpecker, Siskin, Coal tit, Blackbird, Mistle thrush, Song thrush, Wren, Blue tit, Great tit, Buzzard, Red kite, Chaffinch, Robin, Starling, Wood pigeon, Dunnock, Jay, Magpie, Raven and Grey heron.
