I used to be regarded as an early riser, but by the time I arrived on the prom this morning I had missed all the goodies seen by Ewan and Jude earlier.
First stop was the harbour, where eight Purple Sandpipers and six Turnstones were on the rocks by the wooden jetty.
Then to Castle Point, where Ewan.and Jude came down off the castle to tell me what they'd had, before heading off to lectures. Helen then joined me and we saw very little apart from nine Common Scoters, a Swallow in off the sea,and some close Gannets. Just as we were leaving, Helen picked up.a Fulmar.
