I was very pleased to see a pair of pied flycatchers investigating what looked like a woodpecker hole this afternoon near Salem , and I must be getting better at recognising stock dove song because I heard one singing near there as well.
Yesterday afternoon I took a quick trip down to Llanrhystud but
unfortunately missed out on both the little stint and the yellow wagtail. A
flock of 14 dunlin flew in to the flooded field while I was there, what
beautifully colourful plumage they have at this time of year.
