For the past two days Elena Klaver, an American birder and I have been travelling around so she could see a good variety of the area's birds before she heads home tomorrow.
I thought she would enjoy the kite feeding at Nant Yr Arian and so it proved. At about 3.20 when the feeding was still going strong the Black Kite appeared, gave great views for a few minutes and then we lost it in the mass of Red Kites. Fortunately we relocated it about ten minutes later and watched it at close range for a few more minutes before it finally disappeared.
