New Quay look-out (Birds Rock)

There was a nice selection of birds seen during a 2-hour dolphin watch this morning, which made-up for the lack of dolphins!

The highlight was a group of 14 chough, also an unexpected sparrowhawk, and two kestrels.  Sea birds included kittiwakes (good numbers on the ledges and a large group in the sea), one fulmar and a couple of passing sandwich terns. Other birds included two ravens, several passing swallows, house martins and sand martins, the usual linnets and goldfinch, and a single blue tit.
