Yesterday at the Ynys Feurig hide, RSPB Ynys-hir there were four ringed plovers on the pool, two white wagtails and two female marsh harriers. Also a nice male brambling below the feeders.
In a short sea watch from the brick house at Ynyslas in the
afternoon,in a break between the drizzle, I was very surprised to have 13
red-throated divers, a black-throated diver and two Great northern divers fly
north along with a few fulmar and Manx shearwaters.
This afternoon from the brick house there was a steady movement
north of mainly juvenile herring and lesser-black backed gulls, two sandwich
terns flew north and a rather early arctic skua harried some distant kittiwakes
before it too headed north.
