At Llanrhystud there were 32 Mediterranean gulls with another 220 at Llanon and 86 at Aberaeron. Surprisingly, most, if not all,were adults or second year birds. Only other birds of note was a flock of 220 house sparrows at Llanrhystud.
Later, at Ynyslas a summer plumaged golden plover had my heart
racing for a bit and there were 42 sandwich terns on the sand banks (including 9
juveniles).
