, 17th January, Ynys Hir. High tide from Marian Mawr, large amounts of Teal coming up river on the tide, also Oystercatcher and Curlew. 3 Shelduck. Large dark raptor flying low and slow up river put up lots of the wildfowl and Oystercatchers, potential female Marsh Harrier but too distant for certainty. Wigeon heard at distance.
Between Marian Mawr and Domen Las Green Sandpiper and Little Egret and on the flush behind the path, Greenshank and female Red Breasted Merganser,both spooked into flight unlike the Teal on the same patch. From DomenLas 5 Goldeneye (1m, 4f, maledisplaying), 2 Little Grebe, Redshank,distant raptor perched up, similar to earlier but still too distant.Plenty of Redwing around and some nice close Goldcrest views too.
