Had a great day's birding with Mark Norris. Two male Greenfinchs on Nant Yr Arian feeders with another calling in the distance. There were literally dozens of Siskin also present. A single female Tufted Duck was the only sighting of note on Llyn Blaenmelindwr. Later we had a real treat along with male and female Greenfinch on Ynys-hir feeders, a male Brambling. Also a Marsh Tit calling from the top of a tree in the car park.
This afternoon the Dyfi
estuary didn't disappoint with highlights being Knot(10), Great White Egret(2),
Gadwall(2m,1f) a Great Crested Grebe and pair of Red-breasted merganser. The
trip ended with two male Common Scoter off Ynys-las brick house. Top
day!
