A very pleasant two hours spent in the Ynys Feurig hide at RSPB Ynys-hir yesterday afternoon. Winter birds included 14 Greenland white-fronted geese, two marsh harriers (one flushing a jack snipe) and a ringtail hen harrier. Spring,though, was definitely showing with a marvel of many displaying lapwing and redshank, four black-tailed godwit and a late flurry of a dozen sand martins just before I left. Loads of chiffchaff too.
