Good numbers of Whinchats (11) and Stonechats (6) at the top of the valley as well as two calling Cuckoos. On the way I noticed that there seems to have been some tree clearance work at Coxhead, since I visited in April to count the nests at the heronry. Not sure what the impact has been on the breeding birds or whether the heronry itself is threatened by continued conifer clearances. Yesterday, I counted 14 Swifts over Llandysul town.
