A juv Shag and a Redshank on the outer rocks at Castle Point this morning and over on College Rocks were two very smart adult summer Med Gulls.
Meanwhile a feeding raft of Manx Shearwaters was gathering not far off Castle Point. Just 200 or so at first but there was a constant stream of birds coming in from the south to join them, along with increasing numbers of gulls and eventually a few Gannets. After about 25 minutes the manxies were up to around 2300, an impressive sight as the raft moved slowly northwards.
