Ynyslas and Ynys-hir

A very short sea watch from the brickhouse was unproductive as the wind was such a strong westerly I could not keep the scope steady. At the tern posts, good numbers of waders were feeding on a fast rising tide and I was pleased to find a juv curlew sandpiper amongst the dunlin and ringed plovers. Also 7 knot, 6 turnstone and 23 sanderling (no terns at all, all down south I reckon as I had 140 Sandwich terns at Cei Bach last Tuesday).

Ynys Feurig hide at RSPB Ynys-hir produced 3 green sands, 3 great egrets, 84 teal, a wigeon, 2 gadwall, and 2 juv yellow wagtails amongst the 30 or so pied and white wagtails (3 of the latter).
