Yesterday
The worse the weather the better for birdwatching at Ynyslas . At
high-tide, very little disturbance at the tern posts and there were 84 ringed
plovers, 248 dunlin, 16 sanderling, 3 whimbrel, two turnstone and a rather smart
knot. Only around 20 Sandwich terns and the sea was quiet.
Two days ago, two flocks of common terns flew down the estuary (8
and 13) but did not stop and flew off high out to sea.
