A decent high-tide , so I spent two hours at the northern point this morning. Highlights were over 500 Sandwich terns, loads of black-headed gulls, 30 odd common gulls, 17 Mediterranean gulls and a few kittiwakes. The terns were catching good numbers of small fish and soon two dark phase Arctic skuas starting chasing and later a pale phase had a go.
72 sanderlings at the point along with 220 dunlin and 80 ringed
plover.
At the brick house at 1030hrs 11 red-throated divers and quite a
few auks, most of those too far out.
In Talybont a hobby flew over my garden this afternoon causing much
panic amongst the house martins and swallows.
