23rd December
The strangest thing that appeared on a walk round Ynyslas this morning was
a raven flying along the beach with a golf ball in its beak!
Elsewhere there were good sized flocks of golden plover (200+), lapwing
(100+) and curlew (30+) on the boatyard fields plus a red kite and buzzard. On
the salt marsh were more curlew, a few egret and a small flock of shelduck. Out
on the estuary were the usual whistling wigeon.
