Yesterday I photographed a a colour-ringed. Great White Egret from the hide at Cors Caron (photo supplied,)
The bird was ringed at Westhay reserve, Somerset, on 28 April 2025. In September it was reported from Cors Caron and in February from the Teifi at Llanfair Clydogau. It then returned to Somerset where it was photographed just over a week ago on April 10th. They said that although the birds wander quite widely over the first couple of years, it is unusual for them to return home and then go back to where they have visited.....They asked to be kept informed if it stays around....
