STARLING ROOST

From Sue and Terry Reeves: Talking to a friend we met on our way to the pier at Aberystwyth to see the Starlings we were given the following info. There is a large Starling roost in a strand of trees/small wood at Dihewyd. It has been there for years. You can tell by the depth of the droppings beneath the trees. We have friends living between Dihewyd and Cribyn and they have seen large groups of Starlings in the late afternoon.
Yesterday the male Black Redstart was showing well on the college roof and feeding on St Mike's lawn. Only 6 Purple Sandpipers on the rocks below the stone jetty and a Mute Swan ringed 7AEH was in close company with another swan.
