Saw the recent posting re Starlings in the Dihewyd area. I haven't checked for a couple of years but I did spend some time in in the late afternoons/early evenings of late November 2007 chasing large flocks of Starlings in the Dihewyd, Gorsgoch, Mydroilyn area trying to find the roost. I finally located it and subsequently (4 December 2007) I did a count as best I could - an estimated 120,000 birds. Presumably this is the same roost as the one recently reported - it was certainly a well used roost.
