I was a bit miffed to see my first 2010 swallows 250 miles NE of here on Monday while visiting Far Ings Nature Reserve on the Humber estuary, also first Chiffchaff. However we did see Marsh Harrier (male), though we missed their courtship display before lunch.
Returned to Felinfach to see one of 'our' swallows around and noticed the Robins hecticly feeding young in nestbox under the carport roof. Still no Chiffchaff from the copse.
Nice to see a bit of humour? in our birding world, thank goodness for John Valentine - some things never change!!!!!!!!
