Pomarine Skuas at Aberystwyth

Whilst sitting in the Old college computer room busily battling with our latest university assignment, we could hear a Sandwich tern calling on the old college rocks and we could not help ourselves, so off we went back to the flat for the optics.
There were 16 sandwich tern on the old college rocks with 6 Turnstone, 13 Purple sandpiper near the sea wall and a scan out to sea resulted in the excitement of 2 pale phase Pomarine Skua with the full spoon set! Not surprisingly they we busy annoying Kittiwakes and continued go further out to sea.
Also good numbers of Gannet, Kittiwake, 40+ Manx Shearwater, 1 Fulmar at sea.
To top it off 5 Bottle-nosed Dolphin with 2 individuals showing off with an impressive breach together.
Definitely worth a break from the computer!
