Ynyslas High Tide Friday 16th

A sunny calm and quiet morning revealed 100+ Golden Plover, nearly 200 Ringed Plover and around 50 Dunlin hiding out in the pebbles.

They were joined by 4 Whimbrel, while a pair of Choughs headed north over the estuary.

Just offshore the shearwaters were busy fishing...though diving without the grace of gannets it must be said!

There were also some mergansers, shelduck, and wheatears keeping us busy.

Away from the reserve, I was walking upstream of Dyfi bridge and noticed a thriving colony of sand martins. Well worth a look if you're in Machynlleth.
