October 22nd 2007 is the first time that I saw the Bar-headed Goose on the Teifi, (maybe Cere. bird reports list earlier? I haven't the reports at work !!).
The B-hd Goose does go missing for months. I guess not straying too far from the Teifi? It may also wander some distance with part of the Canada Geese flock?
It is useful to follow marker birds like this B-hd Goose, the 2 Snow Geese,c 40 Barnacle Geese & various hybrids! to follow "our" flock.......to see where the flock does venture, certainly the Nevern in August.
Watching the flock regularly, did enable the short cold weather invasion by c105 Barnacle Geese presumably? from the Dyfi to be picked out quickly ! as ........foreigners !!
