While on my way this morning Andy James rang to say he was watching the Great Grey Shrike there. That was encouraging news and on my arrival I met Terry Barry who had seen the bird last Sunday. Separately, the three of us saw 52 Pink-footed Geese flying over, heading south-east at 10.30am.
Eventually I caught sight of the Shrike, perched prominently although some distance away.
Several Crossbills were about (Russell Jones noted around 20 there yesterday) and Lesser Redpoll.
