Med Gulls

Last Sat 15th Jan there were 2 adult med gulls in the roost at Llanon south. It reminded me to jog an elbow or two over my sightings last Aug of 2 ringed meds. I received an immediate reply:
green 631 was ringed as a pullus in Calais in 2009,travelled down to Coruna in NW Spain by Feb 2010 thence north to the marshes in the Vendee in May, seen by me in Aug at Llanon which was enough to send it back to Coruna by December 2010.
6M2 was ringed as a pullus in Seine-maritime June 2010, was in Llanon in Aug with green 631 and reached Coruna by Oct 2010.

Today at Llanina (near Newquay) saw 5 red throated divers just close enough to count in the tetrad. 18 common gulls were amongst 142 herring gulls with 16 oystercatchers and strangely,4 lapwing flying about over the sea. Dipper was on the river there although it was cloudy with sediment and very fast flowing. Most numerous bird apart from the HG's ...blue tits!
