Raptors at Pen Dinas (Friday)

While cycling back to Aberystwyth along the "Llwybr Ystwyth" cycle trail
past Pen Dinas this afternoon, my eye was caught by a female kestrel which
settled on a fence post - clearly a photo opportunity. I got the camera and
tripod ready, but before I could take the kestrel's photo, a kite flew past
further up the hill, then a buzzard settled on another fence post. There
were plenty of starlings, blackbirds and thrushes in the fields, who seemed
to ignore the watchful gaze of the buzzard and kestrel. Equally, the kestrel
only seemed interested in preening.
