Today (Sunday 16th) on the seawall at Castle point 10 Purple Sandpipers avoiding the big waves. The Starling roost was spectacular tonight with many 10s of thousands of birds all swirling around before going to roost. A true natural wonder!
Back in Ystumtuen, a superb Woodcock walked across the lane at about 10 foot from our car, my best ever view of a Woodcock.
The feeders still have their regular 15 each or so of Blue and Great Tits and Chaffinches, with smaller numbers of Greenfinch, Siskin, Blackbird, Robin, Coal Tit, Starling, Dunnock and Wren. 2 Raven overs, with Kites and Buzzards.
We also saw a few Swans at Lovesgrove but didnt have the opportunity to stop, but thanks to this blog, it looks like they were the Whooper Swans seen earlier.
Matt and Charly Potter.
