ABERYSTYWYTH

We had a short but very rewarding walk late Friday afternoon: two female Goosanders in Aberystwyth Harbour just below the Gap; a leucistic Carrion Crow in a tree beside the Rheidol near the police station; and a very lively Goldcrest in the vegetation by the ditch at Plascrug, making the most of the abundant gnats. It was moving too fast for us to take a picture, but obligingly came close enough for us to get an excellent view of its prominent gold stripe. The Starlings are still giving a superb evening show above the pier, too.
