The first year bird with a white ring marked 22C7, seen by Chris Bird in Aberystwyth harbour on 5th January, was seen again by Chris on College Rocks on 24th February. It had come from a colony at Hosehill Lake in West Berkshire.
On 28th February, Chris saw another first year bird with a similar ring, white 27C8, also on College Rocks. That one had also been ringed at Hosehill Lake and on the same day as the other one, 7th June 2010. Both had left the site by early July and as the ringing coordinator said, "we haven't had many cases when 2 birds have been so close in time and space!"
