Redstart and other migrants at Ynys-hir

A short walk to the Marian Mawr hide was rewarded with a lovely male redstart perched on a fence near the hide and at least 30 willow warblers were feeding in the same area, sheltered from the wind by bramble and a fallen tree. A couple of pied flycatchers were in the main stretch of woodland, 63 Greenland white-fronted geese were feeding right in front of the Breakwater hide and a white wagtail, 200 sand martin and a few swallows were on and over the pools there. A little ringed plover was on Lodge Farm on Monday 28th and a bean goose was with Canade geese near there the same day (most likely an escape if with Canadas).
