Unlike Alan - who has commented about the absence of Wrens this spring - around my garden and grounds there are three territorial pairs at present. Birds which are absent or very rare this spring are Greenfinches, and Bullfinches - which are normally here at this time of year feasting on the Amelanchier blossom. As well as the regulars, a few spring migrants have returned with the appearance of Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap.
