Towards hight tide yesterday evening - large numbers of Dunlin and Ringed Plover congregated in the shelter of the small dunes at the northerly end of Ynyslas as the tide, wind - and itinerant walkers - pushed them off the waters edge. For about half an hour parties of predominantly one species or the other came in. As an approximate count there were probably 400 Dunlin and 200 Ringed Plover.together with at least 2 Sanderling. Further back towards the Leri on the shingle were about 200 - here however predominantly Plover.
