It seems ages since I made a contribution to the blog. But I have been following things and occasionally getting out. Noting that he has handed over organisation of field trips into Elaine's capable hands, I don't know if anyone has said how grateful we are to Bob Relph for starting the Ceredigion Bird Group and organisation of field trips over the last five years. It has been an enormous contribution.
Someone of you may have read that a group of volunteers led by George Romary have opened an excellent railway museum in Borth station. I produced a panel for them with photos from Janet Baxter, design by Jack Jackson of FBA and Welsh translation by Ceredigion County Council and checked by myself against the standard reference for Welsh bird names. This panel shows birding sites around Borth and Ynyslas and I hope will be useful to resident and visiting birders. So please look at the panel and the interesting content of this museum.
Having said this, I am not sure whether the poster fits into the context of the museum and whether it would be better outside and replaced by a panel linking the railway to natural history, plants as well as birds. Ospreys and oxford ragwort come to mind. I will discuss with George. I
